The HRCCC committee are happy to announce that dates have been set for Drivers Series 2010.
We have changed the format a little this year, due to the current financial climate in an attempt to make this prestigious event affordable for all.

The dates are 3-5 September 2010.

There will be one round on Friday night, 2 Rounds Saturday and the final round Sunday.
Entry forms and information packs are expected to be released mid next week.
Watch this space.

The information pack for this event is very nearly ready for release. The dates have been changed to avoid a clash with the Whangarei / North Harbour interclub event. The new dates are the following weekend - September 10/11/12. More info shortly.

This has not been explicitly discussed by the HRCCC committee, but we don't allow LiPOs in stock at club level, so I imagine we'll be sticking to NZRCA rules for Drivers Series too (for all classes).

For those who are interested, an online entry system will be added to the website soon. Thanks again to Andrew Webber for his efforts on this.

Also, it is worth noting that the description of rounds of the drivers series is to be simplified. In the past, each 'round' was a separate day of racing and during that day each heat was run 4 times (in other works 4 rounds of heats per 'round' or 16 rounds in total). As this event is being run as one coherent meeting, this description is no longer necessary. furthermore it was felt that 16 rounds of heats would be impossible to fit into the available timeframe. therefore we have altered the race format as follows:
Friday - 3 rounds
Saturday - 6 rounds
Sunday - 3 rounds
We will be taking your best 9 of 12 rounds into account when assessing the points for the final results. This will allow someone to miss the Friday altogether and still achieve a good result. The heats will be re-ceded at the end of Friday's racing and again at the conclusion of racing on Saturday to ensure you're racing against people of similar ability throughout the meeting.

see there are people entered so might be my work IT restrictions kicking in ? unless there is something more obvious I am missing?
