Can anyone give us some current info on where we're at with this event. The guys are getting restless.

It's the first weekend of April and it's at ARCCC hosted by Whangarei. There was a practice day held on the 19th of December to see how electrics handle the track (I wasn't there so I don't know the result). That's all I know.

I am holding off getting a new set of tires as I heard that we will be running a control tire? will this be announced with the entry forms?

Most of the details are in the NZRCA Mag.There will be a control tyre. The holdup with entry forms is waiting to confirm main sponsor and availability of the prefered Tyres.Demonstration classes for Corrs Trucks and 1/8th Elec Buggys if there is enough interest.

Hope to have all details finalised at our meeting Wed night with Entry forms out by the weekend. As this is Easter weekend we would suggest booking Motels etc as soon as you can. Practice is Friday,Qualifiying on Sat and Finals on Sunday. One of the details to be confirmed is Should Monday be a rain day.If it was designated as a rain day we would use it.Maybe those of you traveling long distances would let us know you preference. Dates are April Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th(end of daylight saving)There will be a control tyre on driven wheels for all NZRCA Classes. Our grateful thanks to the Auckland RCCC for their help and support.Having the Event in Auckland we hope will reduce the cost of competing compared to Whangarei. I'd be happy with monday as a rain day - since it's only there as a option if required

So after one of your last post's regarding the information being in the NZRCA mag that has the dates being the 9-11 of April are wrong ? Thats great as I've now made plans for those dates Good work !

My vote, no rain day. Given the number of cars at the last nationals you could run all finals in about 2-3 hrs, so delaying starts or running one final on Saturday could be an option if the forcast was bad for Sunday.

As Corr truck will only be a demonstrator class (which I don't understand why it is taking so long for it to become a class) Does that mean we can run any set up we like - any motors, any batteries, any tyres?

That sounds great to me, the growth of the class based on these rules will be a recipe for success.
