Hi everyone
The South Island champs are coming around again quickly. Entrys are now open and you can enter via the SI Champs website http://www.sichamps.crccc.co.nz" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or print out the form and post it in. But the best way is to do it online. When you enter online it sends you an email with the bank acc details to pay your entry fee into.

Again it is open to all classes Gas and Electric that make the Min of 5 entrys

For the electric finals we will be running the normal starting grids rather than the new single file system and yes we have approval for this.

Entrys close 1st of October, But dont leave it to the last minute get your entrys in now so we know who is coming. I am sure like usual it will be a great meeting. We are expecting some Aussie drivers as well to make the trip over, gas and electric so this is another chance to race against some very experienced drivers.

Any questions please post them here and someone will answer then for you. You could also use the contact us on the website but with both Kevin and I travelling there may be some delays in replying.

Regards
Andrew

Sorry what part doesnt make sense. That we got approval. May not have needed it. I cant remember exactly what the new rule is, if it is optinal or not but I was told we got approval so I typed it.

The part where you have a good new rule to prevent crashing at the start and make cleaner races and you don't use it. :?:

With only small numbers of NI racers attending SI events... CRCCC probably cant afford the paint to replace their grid

We tried the new starting grid at our last club day and it doesnt prevent crashing at all.... and its more up to the drivers to have a clean start. People still end up on the grass on the first corner!
I dont think that you win a race on the first corner at the start... the fastest guys always end up winning.

We have all sort of paint colour you can chose from Andrew...
Cheers

The new grid system was used at the National offroad championships where it made a very noticable difference for the good.

Cool, but I think Kevin and Andrew have good reasons for running the "normal" grid and that it will be good for all of us
