Will the WARCCC be looking at joining the NZRCA as affiliated club?

Early days Stu. We don't even have a track yet The main reason we have used that title is to facilitate fundraising and easier communications with councils and sponsors etc.
The whole idea is to have a fun track for everybody out this way to use. Hopefully it will attract more people to proper racing as time goes on (in the same vein as the Mt Welly track, where a lot of the current guys racing seriously got started).
It seems there are already rumblings out there that our fledgling operation will pose a threat to other established clubs - which is totally ridiculous. This new track will give racers somewhere else to run and tune their cars if other tracks are closed or otherwise unavailable. The only reason other clubs would loose membership numbers is by way of mis-management of their own clubs.
Should this happen they would only have themselves to blame, not the WARCCC for trying to grow and promote our sport in a positive light.

Seeing as you brought the subject up, what are the pro's and con's of being a NZRCA member ?
Do you think we should, or shouldn't be a member - bearing in mind that we will not be holding "race meetings" at a club level ?
Some guidence on this would be appreciated.

it allows your members to go to NZRCA events if they are not a member of a club and have an NZRCA licence they wount be able to go to the big events that are run by clubs on behalf of the NZRCA

If their that keen on going to big events then they've probably run somewhere where they needed to join to register points etc etc like ARCCC or HRCCC so not a big issue me thinks

Shane, I would recommend the WARCCC to join the NZRCA as this will give you insurance cover for your members while they are racing at the WARCCC faclilty.
It would give your members a vote at the NZRCA AGM.
It s would show the WARCCC is a member National Assocation, good for funding raising.
The positives are worth the joining fee.
Just because you are not planning to run race meetings at this stage should not stop you joining.
NZRCA already has clubs that don't run regular meetings.
