Great day guys, we just need a few more buggies. A shame both Andrew and Robert didn't make the final. The new parts of the track were a challenge and got me a number of times.

The electric Xray is impressive, its one advantage is the torque and therefore being able to do the triple and new double pretty much every lap. The best thing has to be less work as well, my car is sitting on the bench at home untouched from racing yesterday, no engine to clean out which is great. It may get a birthday thou, its shocks may get some new oil, and same with the diffs, as I haven't looked at either for over a year.

Maybe I need to get a truggy and see if I can give Hayden a run for his money. Electric powered of course!!

Congrats to Dave for a win in the buggy final, it was pretty hard having to tell him we take qualifying into account and that would mean he wouldn't get his name on the trophy. Daniel who got pipped by Dave in the final, was abit happier after finding that out. Although that electric car was about 3 laps up, with me having to run off the stand and do my own battery swap :D

Hello all, finally got a logon

Great days racing, shame about my 808 not getting a run. Probably would have been beaten by my old CL1 anyway, I'll offer to tune it for him... ha ha

I checked the 808 out and found nothing wrong with either gearbox, all I found was some oil in the clutch. I guess it came from the new bearings when I noze dived during practice. I didn't see it when I checked at the track, and if definitly was not there when I but the new bearings in 2 days earlier............??
What a lost opportunity ...

Still at least I didn't miss any points for this years total.

Yeah Dan, go team losray, I'll join.

Hi Guys
Great days racing with Xray leading the truggies to a 1-2 finish.
Shame the losi couldn handle the pace!!

Congrats to Daniel for winning the buggy (Maybe next horse race Dave   )

Gage had a great day obtaining a position in his first A Main and finishing the day with a respectful 4th :D

Xray - Alpha combo performing with no problems bring on the nationals

Thank you Greg for running the day and Andrew for doing our pit stops.

From your Taranaki Truggy Champ

Cheers Hayden

Unfortunalty it was the trusty Go that couldn't handle the early pace that the losi had in the final

Found out tonight that the gasket in the exhaust joint had blown which explains the flameouts  next time

That was the story of the day really running out of gas in the buggy final and then several flameouts in the truggy puts alot of pressure on really.

Bring on the next round I say :D :D

(y) (y) awesome on the 4th in truggy Gage and that truck of yours a habao is it??? looked good going around the track looks like its set up well and has plenty of power with that alpha.
well i havent yet worked out why that novaa rossi toro nero uses so much fuel as it cant even get a 6 minute qualifier finished it goes for around 5 minutes and thats it even with a 6.5mm restrictor in it. :!: :!: If anyone has a 6mm one i could try please let me know :!: :!:
.It is a shame that Andrew had issues in buggy as then it would have been GS all the way in the final with a losi chasing hard all the way. (y)  :)
was also a pity i had issues with broken clutch shoes and clutch bearings that only last 10 minutes with that Toro Nero(has heaps of power though) and i have no idea y .so my GS will be back next time with a real vengeance with either a GS a JS or a 5 port GO or an Alpha as either of these Taiwanese engines seem to develop lots of power and all are around the $300 mark ..roll on the next race day 8) 8) 8)
Dave
OH and how bad is that if a final is won and then told because of qualifying you end up second ..if i bet on a horse a greyhound or even the all blacks and they win then one gets the pleasure of knowing that this is first place and get the payout.   :( :( :( to win and then get second .... :( :( oh well maybe another time then :!: :!: :!: 8) 8) 8) And in my book everyone who took part in a really great day are all winners for participating regardless of placings.... I for one are really pleased that i found this hobby and joined the Taranaki radio control car club as everyone in this club as a whole are all really good people and is something all people can enjoy..
