All,

Just coming back to the RC camp from a long layoff and keen to purchase some good quality RC tools and Hex drivers, so just wondered what RC Racer fraternity would recommend or suggest please. I know that many may suggest Hudy, but interested to get views on any other options or manufacturers (eg MIP, Arrowmax, Associated) and recommended sets, prices and NZ distributors if possible. Also any recommendations on other RC tools that would be worth getting and having in the tool box. thanks in advance.

I have an Arrowmax set and am really happy with them. They came recommended from members of another forum who had been using them for years with no problems and the tips lasted them a long time. The problem was finding them in NZ, I think I got mine from RCMart but I have seen Frankton Models has some listed, although sold out at the moment.

The shiny anodized and machined stuff is neat, and often very high quality (Hudy, Arrowmax, etc); but you can't beat the quality and proper hand feel of the MIP Thorp drivers. (y)

Ill second on the MIP drivers. Cant say how they compare to a lot of other brands as I havent used them all, but MIP are very very good. Excellent fit and long lasting tips.

Thanks all for the replies and will take a look at both the Arrowmax and MIP options. Regards.

I was in Speedi Models today and they have Arrowmax sets in stock. If you are in Auckland then go have a look, Stephen came recommended by a lot of people at NHRCC and lived up to the reputation, so definitely worth a visit.
