So I got given this box with an old buggy in it and various part.

I'll start taking photos and we can play the guessing game. :D

I don't really know much about it but I want to try and make it live again!

Might be a Kyosho Burns or a Burns DX. maybe a really early Inferno. try looking up RCscrapyard to compare the various models over the years

are parts still available for the engine in these..? Looks like I need a rod to start with.

its a OS MAX 21 EX

Ive had a bit of a search but cant find bugger all. actually a engine manual would be good so i can see whats missing. Anyone know of a manual download for this engine?

There is also another engine with the buggy, its got a 'M' on the side of it and a (3.5) on the other side.

Thanks.

Try here if you haven’t already; https://www.osengines.com/parts/discontinued.html

Otherwise you could ask around on Rctech forum if anyone is familiar with this model or knows part numbers.
eBay would be your best bet for parts... Could be a real money pit to get running if it’s showing serious signs of wear.. brand new engines can be picked up dirt cheap these days.

Thanks

of course there is no sign of that model on the discontinued items. :D

I really want to keep the original engine. I'll do some searching, I am sure that like most things the engine probably shared conrod maybe cylinders and pistons etc with other models.

hey, I posted on rctech a couple days ago and the post hasn't been administered yet, new member thing. thought they would be a bit quicker to administer a post.

Do you know what the engine is in this photo on the right hand side? I want get some parts for that too if I can.

I found a conrod for the OS Max engine and that's on its way now.

Hi, try rc10talk, tamiyaclub and oople as well.

A lot of knowledge is spread across the RC world online but rctech is best for the latest and greatest.

A few of the old(er) buggers here may know a bit as well.

Thanks. didn't get anywhere with rctech, before I can post a thread of my own I have to have commented on 10 other peoples threads. I mean who has time for that!!!

I'll try the others you mentioned.

I've actually made good progress. I just cant find out what that 2nd engine is with the M on it.

I've found all the parts I needed for the O.S 21EX engine and ive stripped and rebuilt the chassis, diffs etc. This thing must have been a monster in its day.

The next thing I need to do is find replacement radio gear, this stuff is all dead.

Will put up some progress photos later.

Cheers
