Re: 2018 NZRCA 1/10th EP Off-Road Nationals

I see Chris Sturdy has entered. Be good to see him on dirt over here.

Why are we spelling tyres with an 'i' now?

Re: 32 year old PB mini Mustang - going to race it again soon

Not sure on belt pitch. I run the course 3mm belt in both of mine, but I do have a Maxima set with the original belt. Off the top of my head it looks like MXL - same pitch as the original Schumacher Cat.

Re: 32 year old PB mini Mustang - going to race it again soon

That was always the tricky thing with the PB. The original shocks are terrible, but they mount centrally on the little plastic towers, whereas every other type of shock mounts on one side or the other, causing them to twist. Quite hard to make better towers too and there isn't much to connect them t...

Re: 380 brushed motors Help

You don't need to break the motor in. For racing we used to run them under water for a number of seconds until the water started turning black - this accelerated the brush wear and gave the motor more torque as the brushes make contact with a larger area of the com. It shortens the life substantiall...

Re: Mylaps update disables MRT transponders

I doubt MyLaps will release a fix - I would expect the disabling of the MRT transponders is intentional so you have to buy MyLaps Transponders. This happened a few years back with the older model MRT transponders - it is anti-competitive behaviour from MyLaps.

Nice work Dennis. I always loved the look of the Javelin back in the day. The re-release seems to be available now.

Re: AGM/Remits

I think Nathan is right once again. If anything this rule change will mostly affect modified, as most people will still race stock. In my opinion stock is fast enough for most people now, and especially those that are maybe midfield in modified, but near the front in stock will have an easy decisio...

Re: AGM/Remits

As an aside, the remit to reduce race time for 1/10th off-road from 6min to 5min was passed as I understand it. I have to agree with Scott and Shane, again even though it affects me, it is better for the up-coming drivers in stock to not have the A-Main stacked with top modified drivers at the one m...
